November 19, 2017

Dear Families,

It was a pleasure talking with all of you at conferences last week.

Important dates:
November 20- Multicultural Feast
November 24- Thanksgiving Day/ No school
November 25th - No school/ Thanksgiving Break
November 27th- Mrs. Fox Returns

Here are some highlights from our week:

Reading- Last week we continued to work on our BHH reading strategy and our Tracks of a Reader in our Scholastic Newspapers. We hope you enjoyed our Seesaw Booksnaps showing you where we used our heads to think about our reading and find powerful statements in the text.
Writing- We finished our final personal narratives and will begin to publish on Monday. We worked hard at editing for punctuation and spelling before we copy our stories in our Bare Books.

Math- This week we practiced lessons 3.6-3.8. The topics included -0 and -1 subtraction strategy, “what's my rule” tables (input- output tables), and using doubles facts to help us subtract. Our Unit 3 Math test will be November 28th (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving).

Social Studies- Last week we made plans for our final product for our Social Studies Lesson, "What Makes Our Community Special?" We're working on creating products for new students to our community in order to help them to feel welcome to our school and our city.
